The Mei Lan Zhu Ju piece is selected from my self-made Orihon book, which is made by placing unmixed fiber on drained washi and letting them naturally mix together as they air-dry. This project is a further experiment in artwork inspired by natural phenomena, building upon the Root series. The four characters depicted from right to left represent the plum blossom, bamboo, orchid, and daisy in simplified Chinese. These four plants are universally known as the "four gentle characters" in Chinese culture, representing four different virtues and types of elegance. Creating these characters on washi paper is a way to blend natural phenomena with traditional culture. The creative handmade washi naturally mixed with Kozo fiber inspired me to explore the possibilities of art through natural phenomena and create a series of works.

Mei Lan Zhu Ju is a selection from my self-made Orihon book. It is created by placing unmixed fiber on drained washi and allowing them to mix naturally as they air-dry. This project is a further exploration of natural phenomena-based artwork, building on the Root series.
The four characters from right to left represent plum blossom, bamboo, orchid, and daisy in simplified Chinese. These four plants are universally known as the "four gentle characters" in Chinese culture, symbolizing virtue and elegance in four different forms.
Creating these characters on washi paper is a way to blend natural phenomena with traditional culture. The creative process of mixing handmade washi with kozo fiber inspired my desire to explore the possibilities of art through natural phenomena and create a series of works.
